Start Laser Hair Removal Now and Be Pool Ready by Summer

As the sun sets on another summer, it’s time to dust off your leggings and pull out your favorite sweater. And with the fall and winter chill settling in, your body hair care routine inevitably takes a vacation.
While it can be tempting to hide your hairy issues under your winter clothes, the colder months are the best time to start prepping for summer, especially when getting rid of unwanted hair.
At Premier Primary Care, our team of medical and aesthetic experts, led by Brenda Dexter, FNP, makes laser hair removal a centerpiece of our skin rejuvenation treatments. We can help you lay the groundwork now so that you can enjoy beautiful skin later.
Getting to the root of the problem
Your body is covered with about 5 million hair follicles. The highest concentrations of hair follicles are on your head and in your nostrils.
There are a couple of places on your body where you want hair and spend countless hours and dollars grooming and primping. Most other areas, however, you wish the hair would disappear altogether.
Although it’s a cosmetic nightmare, body hair, even unwanted body hair, actually serves a purpose. It acts as an added barrier against the elements, regulates body temperature, and enhances your ability to perceive sensations.
Hair grows in stages: anagen, catagen, and telogen.
During the anagen stage, your hair forms within the follicle below the skin level and eventually pushes itself out. Your hair grows around 1 centimeter every 28 days. Anywhere from 85-90% of your hair is in this stage at any given time.
The catagen phase lasts for about 2-3 weeks. In this phase, your hair stops growing. About 3% of your hair is in this phase.
Your hair enters the final stage, telogen, and stays there for approximately 100 days. About 6-8% of your hair is in this phase. During this stage, your hair is entirely at rest, and the hair is completely formed.
When you want to get rid of your body hair for good, you have to interrupt this continuous growth cycle. That’s where our laser hair removal comes in.
How laser hair removal works
We offer two of the best all-inclusive skin rejuvenation systems available: Cynosure® Icon™ and TempSure® Envi™.
Both of these systems can address all of your skin issues, from wrinkles and sagging skin to unwanted body hair.
They use the power of light-energy and radiofrequency to disrupt your hair’s growth cycle where it starts — in the follicle. The follicle is destroyed, preventing new hair from regrowing. Your hair never reaches full maturity in its later stages because it’s stopped short before the anagen phase can begin.
The best part about this treatment is that it’s non-invasive and virtually painless. Most patients report a light snapping or a gradual warming sensation. Depending on the area you’d like to have treated, your session could take five minutes or up to an hour.
Recovery from laser hair removal is a snap. You can resume your normal activities and routine immediately after treatment. You might notice some redness or slight swelling, but these side effects are expected and typically subside quickly.
You’ll likely need a few treatments to see permanent results; that’s why we encourage you to start your hair removal process long before you break out your summer wardrobe. Get yourself ready for summer before the first heatwave with our laser hair removal.
