Rita Koon, MSN, FNP-BC, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Premier Primary Care in Union City, Tennessee. She excels at working directly with patients and is a highly valued member of the team.
Rita earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She then went on to obtain her Master of Science in Nursing, also from Union University.
Rita began her professional nursing career in 1995 and has been a family nurse practitioner since 2009. Her previous experience includes work in urgent care clinics and family practice settings. Throughout her time practicing, Rita has treated patients of all ages and her experience has informed her belief that the best medicine is prevention. That’s why a central tenet of her work is lifestyle and its effects on long-term health.
Rita enjoys working with each of her patients with the goal of helping them maintain an optimal state of health. Few things in life give her more satisfaction than seeing a patient turn things around and improve their overall quality of life.
Rita is married, with two adult children, one grandson, and two fur babies. In her personal life, she’s an active member of the First Baptist Church of Martin, Tennessee, the city she calls home. She enjoys college football (especially her University of Tennessee Volunteers!), yoga, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
